Goeppertia
Still known colloquially and commercially as "Calathea", the varieties relevant as houseplants have actually belonged to the genus Goeppertia since 2012.
Known for their bushy growth with small flowers, ideally placed in hanging baskets or similar. However, there are also varieties that don't grow this way.
Only a few species are offered as houseplants, but they are definitely worth a look.
A - in our opinion - quite undemanding genus with a fairly limited selection in stores. Nevertheless, this genus deserves significantly more attention.
Here you'll find a "surprise bag" of wonderful plants that unfortunately don't have an ID, or we couldn't find one.
Genera, where known, are listed.
Strictly speaking, Calatheas are no longer relevant as houseplants since their reclassification in 2012. In nature, they grow to considerable heights with impressively large foliage.
Rather somewhat rare, but if other (not previously mentioned) genera of the Marantaceae family appear on the market, they will likely also be offered as "Calathea". This is also the case in these instances.
